This is a continuation of the adventures started from the above post. Not sure how appropriate it is to continue the thread, but wanted to compile information for future reference.

Here are the rod bearings after 94k miles. You can see some copper on the ones near left. From what I have read, rod bearings are the ones that spin first, and replacing them is good preventative maintenance.

While its opened up I am looking at applying the seal kit to the transfer case and installing the front motor mount. On a side note the part of the transmission I can now access is all gunked up, I wonder how safe it is to degrease it all and clean it all up as much as possible.
